Eifuku-ji temple was founded to protect the tomb of Prince Shotoku after his death, and a hall was built for this purpose. Later, during the reign of Emperor Shomu, the temple complex was established. The Tahoto Pagoda and Shoryoden Hall, both built in the early Edo period, are designated as important cultural properties of Japan. Adjacent to the northern part of the temple grounds is a tumulus that serves as the mausoleum of Prince Shotoku, which can be visited from the front.

It can be easily accessed by taking a bus for 8 minutes from Kintetsu Ueno-Taishi Station (or 10 minutes by bus from Kintetsu Kishi Station) and getting off at the Shotoku Taishi Gobyobu-mae bus stop, followed by a short walk.
