梅田スカイビルは、ダイハツディーゼル大阪工場跡地などの再開発で平成5(1993)年に誕生した、 新梅田シティの中核施設。 原広司氏が設計した地上173mの超高層ビルで、 東西2つの棟を接続する最上部が空中庭園展望台となっている。 地下1階にはレトロな食堂街滝見小路がある。地下鉄東梅田駅の東側、 曽根崎にある露天神社は、近松門左衛門の代表作である人形浄瑠璃 『曽根崎心中』の舞台。 恋仲の徳兵衛と境内で心中した遊女お初の名前にちなみ「お初天神」と呼ばれ、 境内にお初と徳兵衛の像が立つ。
Umeda Sky Building is a core facility of the Shin Umeda City, which was born in 1993 as part of the redevelopment of the Daihatsu Diesel Osaka factory site. Designed by Hiroshi Hara, the 173-meter-tall skyscraper has an aerial garden observatory at the top, which connects the two east and west wings. On the first basement floor, there is a retro dining street called Takimikoji. To the east of the subway Higashi-Umeda Station, in Sozenji, there is a Shinto shrine called "Oe Tenjin", named after the names of Doi and Ochimi, who were lovers and committed suicide at the shrine, which is the setting of Chikamatsu's puppet theater masterpiece "Sonezaki Shinju". Statues of Doi and Ochimi stand on the grounds.
