東京国立博物館は、明治5(1872)年の湯島聖堂博覧会を始まりとする、日本で最も長い歴史をもつ博物館。 日本や東洋の美術、 法隆寺の宝物など、 国宝や重要文化財を含む約12万件を所蔵。
The Tokyo National Museum is the oldest museum in Japan, with a history that dates back to the Yushima Seido Exhibition in 1872 (Meiji 5). It holds a collection of about 120,000 items, including Japanese and East Asian art, as well as national treasures and important cultural properties such as the treasures of Horyuji Temple.
