六義園は、元禄15(1702)年、 5代将軍徳川綱吉の側用人、 柳澤吉保が7年の歳月をかけて造成した回遊式築山泉水庭園。 庭園を巡りながら四季折々の景色を楽しむことができ、 特にツツジの名所として有名だ。また桜や紅葉の時期にはライトアップもされる。園内には、松風亭、書院、池泉回遊式庭園などがあり、日本庭園の代表的な要素を多数取り入れた美しい景観が広がっています。また、紅葉の季節には紅葉が美しいことでも有名で、多くの人々が訪れます。日本庭園の代表的な景観を堪能しながら、季節の移ろいを感じることができる、おすすめの観光スポットです。
Rikugien Garden is a strolling-style, man-made hill and pond garden that was constructed over a period of seven years by Yanagisawa Yoshiyasu, a senior retainer of the fifth shogun, Tokugawa Tsunayoshi, in the year 1702. Visitors can enjoy seasonal views while strolling through the garden, which is particularly famous as a spot for azaleas. Additionally, the garden is illuminated during the cherry blossom and autumn foliage seasons.
