三角西港は、三池炭鉱の石炭を輸出するため、 明治20(1887)年に開港した港。 明治三大築港のひとつで、約100年前の当時の姿を保つ唯一の港 港湾施設やレトロな町並みが保存修復されている。
Mitsugi Nishiko Port is a port that was opened in 1887 during the Meiji period to export coal from the Miike coal mine. It is one of the three major ports built during the Meiji period, and it is the only port that still retains its original appearance from about 100 years ago. The port facilities and retro townscape have been preserved and restored to their original state.
