江の島は、長く続く砂浜から、海に向かって突き出す砂州の先端に浮かぶ小島 島内に鎮座する江島神社を中心に、みやげ物店や食事処が並ぶ。 その周りには一般住宅が多く、 ひと一つの町になっている。シンボルの江の島シーキャンドルをはじめ、明治のイギリス人貿易商に由来する庭園江の島サムエル・コッキング苑、 江の島岩屋など見どころが数多く点在する。
Enoshima is a small island floating at the tip of a sandbar that extends towards the sea from a long sandy beach. It is centered around the Enoshima Shrine, with souvenir shops and dining establishments lining the streets. Many residential areas surround the island, creating a single town. There are many sights to see, such as the Enoshima Sea Candle, a symbol of the island, the Enoshima Samuel Cocking Garden, which originated from a British trader in the Meiji era, and the Enoshima Iwaya Cave.
