鎌倉の中心部東側に位置する長谷は、 相模湾を望む丘陵地。静かな住宅街である一方、 鎌倉大仏として名高い高徳院、 日本最大級で高さ 9.1mの木造の観音菩薩像と花の寺として知られる長谷寺がある人気エリア。 長谷駅とこれらを結ぶ長谷通りとその周辺には、小さいながらもクオリティの高い店が点在している。
Hase, located on the east side of the center of Kamakura, is a hilly area overlooking Sagami Bay. While it is a quiet residential area, it is also a popular area with tourists, as it is home to Kotoku-in, famous for the Kamakura Daibutsu, a large bronze Buddha statue, and Hase-dera, known for its 9.1 meter tall wooden statue of Kannon, the Buddhist goddess of mercy, as well as its beautiful flowers. The Hase area, which is connected to Hase Station by Hase-dori and its surrounding area, is dotted with small but high-quality shops.
