鉄道歴史パーク in SAIJOは、「新幹線の父」と呼ばれる第4代国鉄総裁、 十河信二をの功績を称える十河信二記念館や、 初代0系新幹線をはじめ、 6両の貴重な車両を展示した四国鉄道文化館など、4つの施設がある。第2代西条市長を務めた十河信二 (そごうしんじ)は、 その後第4代国鉄総裁として手腕を発揮し、 東海道新幹線の建設を実現した新幹線の生みの親だ。

Railway History Park in Saijo features four facilities, including the Tokaido Shinkansen, which is dedicated to the accomplishments of Shinji Sogo, the 4th president of Japanese National Railways and known as the "father of the Shinkansen." The park also includes the Shinji Sogo Memorial Hall, which honors his achievements, and the Shikoku Railway Culture Museum, which displays valuable rolling stock, including the first 0 Series Shinkansen train consisting of six cars. Shinji Sogo, who served as the 2nd mayor of Saijo, later became the 4th president of Japanese National Railways and played a pivotal role in realizing the construction of the Tokaido Shinkansen, which is regarded as the origin of the Shinkansen.
